A complete Christmas
Dublin is alive with celebration, and though it’s still a month away, the Christmas spirit seems to be taking hold. Walking through the Creative Quarter, we’re surrounded by lights. As the nights grow longer and the days cooler, it’s easier to embrace the snowflakes adorning shop windows and the evergreen trees cropping up around town.
Christmas happens a bit differently in restaurants. We’re always a little bit shocked on sunny days in July when we start getting our first enquiries, and our staff can’t help but laugh when we schedule Christmas meetings in August. By September, we feel completely prepared for the busy times ahead, and when the lights get switched on in the city everything really kicks off.
This Christmas will be a special one for us at Fade Street Social. It’s our third Christmas in business, but it’s the first where we’re complete.
When we first opened, we were thrown into the holiday season after only being open a few short weeks. That year, we were only finding our feet, serving mostly just tapas, trying out a few days in the restaurant and happily being a part of the atmosphere in the city that makes Christmas in Dublin so special. The time flew by, partially because everything was still so new to us.
Last year, we had a bit more experience. With our a la carte restaurant open just over a year and our tapas dining room thriving, we were planning a much bigger celebration. Double the amount of diners came through our doors, and we like to think we did a pretty good job keeping up.
This spring, we launched our Cocktail Bar. Now it’s got its own, distinct style. Where last year, it was a cosy spot to head before a meal downstairs, this year it’s got a life of its own. Guests join us for signature drinks and a spot on the terrace whether or not they’re eating, and that’s what gives the bar it’s true identity.
After celebrating our second birthday this month, we’re eagerly awaiting this holiday season. This year, we’ve got every aspect of Fade Street Social ready to celebrate, from seasonal tapas in the Gastro Bar, to hearty, home-style meals in The Restaurant, to holiday cocktails in The Bar and Winter Garden.
This Christmas promises to be an exciting one for us. We’ve got a few gifts in store for our fans, and we’re ready to help make your holiday celebrations more memorable than ever.
